Following a regrettable occurrence on campus, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is in sorrow for the untimely death of one of its students.
Joana Deladem Yabani, a final-year student studying biological sciences, was discovered dead next to the Disability and Rehabilitation Center early on February 27, 2025, according to a statement released by KNUST Management.
The body was sent to University Health Services, where she was pronounced dead, after University Security Services got the report at around five in the morning.
Since then, the University has notified her family and offered its sincerest sympathies.
The University claims that a thorough investigation is being conducted.
This is to find the circumstances surrounding the occurrence in cooperation with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), KNUST Internal Security, and University Health Services.
The community was reassured by the university that every effort is being made to gather information and guarantee campus security.
The University has released a statement to this effect.
